Department of Higher Education (DHE), Odisha is likely to present the final exam schedule for undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the state today, August 31, 2020.
As convened, the department will hold a high-level meeting to discourse at length on examination issue. Vice-Chancellors and Controller of Examination of both state and private universities will attend the meeting through video conference.

Additionally, Principals of autonomous and other degree colleges will be a part of the meeting, virtually. Headed by Education Minister, Arun Kumar Sahoo, the meeting will find secretary Saswat Mishra, department officials and college representatives to discuss scheduling exams.
However, contrary to the current situation, Berhampur University had earlier conducted its final year exams before Coronavirus hit hard on the country. As a fact, the university is left with conducting final exams for PG courses only.
The meeting will raise discussion o conducting exams amid the pandemic and measures that each college will have to adopt. pandemic. A senior higher education department official added, "The representatives of the higher educational institutions will say how they can handle the examination.

They can also share what helps they need for a well-coordinated and safe examination. We will also discuss other issues related to this.”
After Supreme Court passed the order to conduct final year exams as per UGC Guidelines of July 6, Odisha government told the media on Friday, August 28, 2020, that the state is planning their next course of action for holding exams.
Supreme Court had earlier passed a verdict that confers re-enacting UGC Guidelines of July 6. Final year or semester students of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses will not be conferred with their degrees without taking exams.
Earlier on June 11, Odisha state higher education department cancelled both UG and PG final exams. Yet after the Supreme Court’s order, the state is preparing to take exams.
