National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday confirmed that the JEE Mains and NEET 2020 will be held as per the revised schedule, that is, JEE Mains will be held from September 01 to 06, 2020, while NEET 2020 on September 13, despite of the concerns raised by students and parents.
As on August 24, about 7.30 lakhs aspirants have downloaded the Admit Cards for JEE Mains, out of which around 320 candidates have requested to change their exam cities.

While making the announcement, NTA state that, “The Honorable Supreme Court has also, inter alia, ordered that, ‘We find that there is absolutely no justification in the prayer made for postponing of the exams in questions related to NEET UG-2020 as well as Jee Mains 2020”.
For JEE Mains, NTA has added 90 news exam centres making the overall count to 660 which in result has brought down the average number of candidates per centre to 1445 form 1,871 in JEE Mains January 2020 cycle.

Similarly, the number of exam centres for NEET-UG has been increased to an overall number of 3842 centres than that of 2546, which has brought down the average number of students per centre to 416 from 597 in 2019.
According to Vineet Joshi, 85% of the candidates have already downloaded the JEE Mains 2020 admit card till August 25. He also said that the NEET-UG 2020 Admit Card will be available from Wednesday.

Mr. Joshi has also assured that 99% of the candidates will get the first choice of the Exam centres for both NEET and JEE Mains exams.
He also added that the number of shifts for the exams has been increased for JEE Mains from eight to twelve which has drastically reduced the number of candidates per shift to 85,000 from 1.32 lakhs earlier.
IIT Delhi Director, V. Ramgopal Rao has taken the help of the social media platform to ascertain the students about the situation. He said that the further delay in the examinations will lead to ‘serious repercussions’ not only on the Academic calendar but also on the career of the students.

He also asked the students to keep faith with the institutions and as assured that the exams will be conducted following the safety measures as issued by the government.
Rao also stated that if exams are not held then it will lead to zero academic year for lakhs of students. He also added that the NTA along with the Union education ministry are in continuous touch with the state government to arrange smooth transports for the students during the exam days.

After the JEE Mains exams, nearly the top 2 lakh students will be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2020 which are tentative to be held on September 27 and as the organising institute I assure everyone that IITs will put their best to arrange the smooth and easy conduction of the exams, said Rao.
The Union Education Minister, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ too has confirmed on Tuesday that the national level entrance exam will be held as scheduled. He made this statement in an interview to DD News on “National Education Policy 2020”.
He also mentioned that the NTA is taking all necessary steps to conduct the exams in a safest way possible.
