New Delhi: With the commencement of JEE Main 2022 application process for the April and May sessions, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced new changes in the Joint Entrance Examination.

JEE Main 2022

As per NTA, the JEE Main 2022 Exam will now no longer have an exam form correction facility for applications. The exam authority has further made changes in the JEE Main 2022 marking scheme, age limit, medium of question paper, and exam centre option.

With this, applicants will have more exam centres to choose from. Additionally, the JEE Main Exam Question Paper will be available in various regional languages. The changes have been made in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020.

Earlier, the National Testing Agency has released the JEE Main 2022 exam schedule, eligibility criteria, and complete information brochure for the 2022 session on its official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Following the schedule released, the examination will be held in two phases for all registered candidates. The first phase will commence on April 16, 2022, while the second will start on May 24, 2022.

Interested candidates who wish to apply for JEE Main 2022 Application Process for the session 1 exam can submit their registrations for the same on the NTA's website from March 03, 2022, to March 31, 2022 (up to 5.00 pm).

JEE Main 2022: Number of Attempts Decreased

Unlike last year, the JEE Main Examination for the 2022 session will now only have two attempts instead of four. Candidates who wish to improve their scores will have the option to appear for examination multiple times.

Following the changes, candidates need not appear in both sessions. In case of candidates appearing in more than one session, then their best JEE Main 2022 scores will be considered for the merit list or admission process.

NTA has released the guidelines on a number of attempts for JEE Main 2022 session and the benefits of the same on its official website. Candidates who wish to learn more about the changes made in the entrance examination can read the same by visiting nta.ac.in.

JEE Main 2022: Marking Scheme Revised

NTA has revised the marking scheme for the entrance examination for both sessions. As per the JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern, negative marking will be done in the section B part of the exam question paper.

Section A will now include multiple-choice questions (MCQs), in which students have to find the correct answer from the given option. While Section B will have 10 number value-based questions, out of which candidates will have to answer 5 questions.

As per NTA, “For each question in Section B, enter the correct integer value of the answer using the mouse and the on-screen virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer. For Section B, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest Integer".

JEE Main 2022: No Correction Window & Multiple Entries

NTA has decided to withdraw the option of JEE Main 2022 form correction. Therefore, candidates applying for the entrance examination are advised to fill out their application form very carefully.

With no application correction window, candidates who have submitted applications with false information or any error in their form will not be offered a second chance to correct the same.

In addition, the option to submit multiple entries or multiple attempts for JEE Main Examination has also been removed from the 2022 session. Candidates with multiple applications for the same session will not be permitted to appear for the examination.

JEE Main 2022: Exam Cities Increased, Allotment to be Based on Filled Address

To offer feasible exam centre options to students, the National Testing Agency, NTA has increased the JEE Main 2022 Exam Centers around the country. As of now, there are a total of 514 JEE exam centres in India, and 13 exam centres are placed abroad.

With this step, the exam authority has also made changes in the exam centre option. To choose exam centres, the options will now be displayed based on applicants' permanent and correspondence addresses filled during JEE Mains application form 2022.
