New Delhi: National Medical Commission (NMC) is inviting applications from medical institutes who are seeking permissions for the establishment of new medical colleges and increasing their seat intake for MBBS and PG medical courses for the academic session 2023-24.

As per NMC, interested medical institutes can submit their applications for permission to establish a new medical college for the academic session 2023-24 till December 23, 2022. Applications must be submitted on or before the deadline to be considered by NMC.

For the academic session 2023-24, the last date to submit applications for MBBS is August 31, 2022 and for Post Graduate Course was July 20, 2022. After receiving a large number of applications in a short period of time, many decisions were conveyed after the last date.

Due to this, many colleges who wish to apply for MBBS and PG courses missed the opportunity to apply for the academic session 2023-24. Keeping this in mind, the council has decided to open the portal for submission of online applications till December 23, 2022. 

Informing about the process, the official website reads, "All concerned are requested to submit their applications on the portal of NMC within the said date and time with the following documents in regard to application for opening new Medical College, increase of UG and PG seats".

Through the online portal, institutes can apply for permission to the establishment of New Medical colleges, increase MBBS seats at medical colleges, starting of new postgraduate courses at medical colleges and increase PG medical seats.
