New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has given its final approval to adding 24 PG Seats Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) and Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar.

These 24 seats in PGIMER belong to 6 specialities: obstetrics and gynaecology, medicine, surgery, paediatrics, respiratory medicine, and orthopaedics department.
For Obstetrics and Gynaecology department and medicine department, NMC has given a nod to 5 seats. For paediatrics, respiratory medicine and orthopaedics, four, three and two seats have been approved, respectively.
Admission in these new MD/MS seats shall commence from the 2022-2023 academic session.
Orissa Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik has tweeted, “In a major boost to health sector in #Odisha, @NMC_IND has given final permission to start post-graduate courses in PGIMER and Capital Hospital.”
“The state government will provide all infrastructural facilities such as teaching and non-teaching staff, buildings, equipment, hospital facilities as per the NMC norms,” said the CMO.
