NITK Surathkal Admission 2021 has begun for the Post Doctoral Program for all of its Engineering, Science departments and Research Centres. Last date to apply is October 26, 2021. Interested candidates can check details below.

The newly launched Post-Doctoral Research Program of the NITK Surathkal aims to offer education and professional training to young minds in the field of research. With this program, the institute plans to increase its overall NIRF 2021 rankings. 

Referring to the initiative, K Umamaheshwar Rao Director, NITK, Surathkal said, “With this program, NITK, Surathkal wants to raise its bar to another level. Institute has risen in rankings to the 10th position among engineering institutes and to the 32nd in overall NIRF 2021 rankings". 

Adding to the statement, U Shripathi Acharya, professor, and dean, NITK Surathkal stated that the admission seats for the program which is now set to 10 seats per session will increase in the coming years.

NITK Surathkal Post-Doctoral Research Program 2021: Highlights

As per the official NITK Post Doctoral Research Program 2021 Notice Release, interested candidates who wish to apply for the program are required to have a Ph.D. degree in the same field along with a background in the research field.

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be selected to work closely with the experienced and well-qualified NITK Faculty Members as well as research scholars. For more details, students are advised to visit the official website of the institute at nitk.ac.in.

Students who appeared for the interview round and are selected in the Post-Doctoral Research Program will be offered with a monthly fellowship (scholarship) of INR 50,000 along with a contingency amount of INR 30,000 per annum.

As of now, the NITK Central Research Facility (CRF) has received an investment of about INR 80 crores obtained from the Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA) and three other centers to develop it into one of the best research facilities in India. 

Additionally, the Board of Governors of NITK has approved the launch of centers of excellence, which will focus on research in the field of cyber-physical systems as well as the skill development of students.
