New Delhi: NIT Rourkela has broken all past records of placements with highest CTC of INR 46.08 LPA during its placement drive of session 2022. During the placement drive, 325 companies have offered 1274 on-campus placement opportunities to graduating students.
As per NIT Rourkela, the recruitment drive for session 2022 has received a shocking placement result. Twenty students were offered annual pay packages of INR 46.08 lakh, the highest so far, while 138 students have received offers of more than INR 20 lakh per annum.
Following the NIT Rourkela Placement 2022 data, there has been a 20% increase in the highest placement package this year. It has witnessed the package increase from INR 9.36 lakh per annum in 2021 to INR 11.20 lakh per annum in 2022.
As per reports, 403 students have bagged prestigious paid internships with an average stipend of around INR 40,000 and the highest stipend of INR 1.25 lakh per month from Microsoft, Tata Steel, Oracle, Barclays, Disney+Hotstar, Mathworks, SAP Labs, and American Express.
Students of NIT Rourkela B.Tech Course from Computer Science Department have recorded the highest average CTC of INR 20.88 lakh per annum. Companies such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Oracle have recruited a high number of students.
The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department has also recorded the highest average CTC of INR 17.27 lakh per annum from major semiconductor recruiters like Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Micron, Mediatek, AMD, and Intel among others.
Referring to the data, Prof. Umesh C. Pati, Head of Career Development Centre said, “The placement statistics this year have been excellent. We managed not only to retain almost all past recruiters but also onboarded 100 new recruiters such as Apple, Google, and Visa”.
“A significant number of major PSUs, including BPCL, GAIL, EIL, and BEL, visited this year. Overall, the placement season is very successful and we achieved the best records so far on almost all parameters” he further added.

NIT Rourkela Placement 2022: Statistics
In NIT Rourkela Placement 2022 drive, the Department of Mining Engineering achieved 100 percent placement with all its students at lucrative firms. Also, 11 out of 14 BTech Departments recorded a placement percentage of more than 90 percent.
Students placed from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are 98 percent and 97 percent respectively during the placement drive. Check the key highlights of NIT Rourkela Placement 2022 mentioned below:

- Amongst the different sectors, Software and IT Services has emerged as the top recruiter (33.28 percent of total recruitment), followed by Core Engineering (25 percent), and Analytics and Consulting (18.72 percent).

Overall, 92.99 percent of students from BTech Course have been already placed across all the branches and the ongoing recruitment drive witnessed evident growth in almost all domains including software, analytics, and core.
From NIT Rourkela PG Course, the Electrical Engineering Department recorded the highest placement percentage of 87.50%, followed by the Computer Science and Engineering Department with 84.48% and Electronics and Communication Engineering with 81.43%.
Following the reports, in PG departments, a total of 375 students have been placed with an average CTC of Rs.9.04 lakh per annum in this year’s placement drive.
