New Delhi: National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT-C) has surpassed an all-time record in campus placements with 1,138 graduate and postgraduate students getting offers from over 200 companies.
According to the NIT-Calicut press release, the virtual placement drive witnessed 4 students from the computer science and engineering branch receiving the highest offer from Traceable AI, which is worth 67.6 lakh rupees per annum (LPA).

Last year, the NIT-C performed admirably by securing 714 placements at an average salary of INR 11 LPA. However, the average salary package this time around was INR 12.1 LPA.
Speaking about the placements, V. Sajith, Professor and Chairperson of the NIT-C Center for Career Development said that the overall placement rate for B.Tech. programmes was 96%, with an average salary of INR 12.6 LPA, compared to 87% in the previous year.
The students of B.Tech in Computer science and engineering remained the most in-demand by the prominent recruiters, with 100% placement and an average salary of INR 20 LPA.
With 98 percent placement and an average salary of INR 15 LPA, recruiters continued to favour students in the electronics and communication engineering field.
Nearly 97% of the electrical and electronics engineering students secured lucrative job offers with an average salary of 12 LPA.
Other B.Tech. branches that were placed in top-notch companies included mechanical (98%) production (97%), chemical (87%) civil (88%) engineering (88%) engineering physics (100%), and biotechnology (84%).
There was a notable improvement in placements of the postgraduate programmes as compared to the previous year.
There was 82 percent placement for M.Tech. programmes, with an average salary of INR 11 LPA. An M.Tech student from the computer science branch was hired for INR 33 LPA. In addition, the MCA students received almost 98% placements.
Prof. Sajith claimed that more software and analytics-related businesses approached the institute to hire students this year compared to years in the past.
Further, a two-month training programme is being offered to the students with alumni support over the summer vacation in anticipation of the demand from IT and analytics organisations, he added.
