The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has postponed all its practical examinations which were scheduled between July 2 to July 10, 2020.

This decision was taken in the wake of rising Coronavirus Cases in the nation. NIOS announced this decision through an official notification.

Earlier, CBSE decided to cancel its pending class 10th and 12th board exams and release results on the basis of internal assessment.

The board has already taken the decision on NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th practical examinations, while for the theory exams which are scheduled to be held from July 17 to August 13, the board is yet to take the decision.

A senior official from the centre has stated that the decision to conduct the NIOS exams rests with the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.

“Till then exams are on and wherever centres are remotely located from learner’s place, the learners can apply for the exam centre change through e-services,” said a NIOS official.

The examination for NIOS 10th as per the revised dates sheet will commence from July 17, 2020, starting with “Hindustani Music” and will end on August 11, 2020, with “Employability Skills” and “Carnatic Sangeet” subjects.
