NEET UG Counselling 2021: MCC Releases Notice Regarding Round 1 Resignation

Post February 15, 2022 the remaining vacant seats will be considered for the second round of NEET UG 2021 counselling, which will commence from February 16.

Candidates should ensure that their resignation Letter is generated online through the MCC portal by the allotted college, without which the resignation will be regarded as null and void.

The committee has mentioned that in such cases, candidates will be required to occupy the seat still, for which the rules of Round-2 will be applied. Letters that are generated other than resignation letters via the online portal will not be considered as ‘Resignation Letter’.

The MCC has clarified that candidates who have selected for the upgradation in Round 2 but if the seat has not been upgraded even after the seat allotment of Round 2, such candidates will not be able to resign, and will have to retain the seat.

In cases like that, the rules of Round-2 will be applied as the candidate has exercised choices and participated in Round-2 and there will be no option of resignation for them if they have not upgraded in the second round of NEET-UG 2021 counselling.

After a certain period of time, candidates who have joined in Round 1 but will neither participate in Round 2 nor resign the seat of Round 1 will be considered part of Round 2.

Hence, candidates who intend to resign their seat of the first round should do it immediately before the commencement of Round 2.

According to the revised NEET 2021 counselling dates, the Round 2 registration process of NEET-UG 2021 counselling is scheduled to be held between February 16 and February 21.

The Choice Filling process for the same will commence from February 17 onwards. This year, the MCC will conduct four rounds of counselling for NEET 2021.
