In the middle of pandemic conducting the national exam ‘NEET’ is a challenging task for the authorities. The biggest challenge is to ensure the physical distancing during the exam which will be conducted for more than 16 lakhs candidates. Hoping that the current situation will get normal in few months NEET 2020 has been rescheduled to September 13, 2020. 

  • A standard operating procedure (SOP) has been created by the panel of medical experts of AIIMS and it is expected that the same SOP will be used in other exams like JEE Main, UGC NET, etc. 
  • The exam centers for NEET has also been doubled and the physical checking of candidates before entering the examination hall has been replaced by metal detectors. 
  • The authorities have also decided to provide a fresh mask along with question paper to every candidate.

What are the Standard Operating Procedures for NEET 2020 while entering the examination hall?

  • Candidates will be allowed to enter the exam center with a mask, hand gloves, hand sanitizer along with NEET 2020 Admit Card and ID Proof. 
  • The time slot to report at the exam center will be mentioned in the admit card of each candidate. 
  • Candidates have to show the admit card for verification. 
  • They will be asked to temporarily remove their mask to ensure their identity. 
  • Candidates with a temperature above the normal will be asked to sit in the separate exam room. 
  • Candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall in the batches. The batch of 15 boys and girls each will be created outside the exam center. 
  • No physical checking will be done. 
  • Metal detectors will be used to check the candidates. These metal deductions can detect the presence of any kind of listening device. 
  • Any presence of Bluetooth or wifi devices will be checked through signal jammers. 
  • CCTVs will be there in every exam hall. 
  • NTA will have its security services to bring in over 9,000 hand-held metal detectors. 

NOTE: No decision has been taken yet that whether COVID-19 positive students can appear for the test or not. 

Standard Operating Procedure to be followed inside NEET 2020 exam hall

  • Candidates will get fresh masks with their question papers. 
  • Wearing a mask is mandatory while attempting the paper. 
  • Candidates will be asked to dispose of their maks and gloves outside the examination hall after the conclusion of the exam. 
  • Proper physical distancing will be taken into consideration while deciding the seat arrangement. 
  • The CCTV footage will be streamed live and for every 12 candidates, 2 invigilators will be present. 
  • Candidates have to mark their attendance and also have to provide a sample of handwriting. 
  • No water dispenser will be available to avoid crowding. However, candidates can bring their own water bottles which should be transparent. 
  • The invigilator will accompany the candidate towards the washroom. 
  • The examination will be sanitized before exam. Hand sanitizer bottles will be placed at serval points. 
  • The examination staff will also have to bring their own masks, hand sanitizers, gloves, water bottles, and food.
