The National Board of Examination (NBE) is expected to announce the results of NEET for admission to the Super Specialty(SS) Course soon on its official website. According to the NEET SS information brochure, the results of the NEET SS will be announced by 25 September 2020.

NEET SS Result 2020: Qualifying Criteria

In order to qualify for the examination, the candidate must obtain 50 percentile or more of the result of the NEET SS 2020.

This qualifying percentile has been set by the Medical Council of India(MCI).

Candidates who obtain less than the 50th percentile in the examination will not be eligible to participate in the admission process.

However, MCI may revise the qualifying percentile in cases where the number of seats exceeds the number of qualified candidates.

NEET SS Result 2020: Tie-Breaking Criteria

During the preparation of the NEET SS result, the competent authority often finds that scores for two or more candidates are equal. In order to be fair in the preparation of the NEET SS ranking list, NBE has a tie-breaking mechanism for such situations. The protocol followed in case of tie while preparing the result of NEET SS is as follows:

Applicants with fewer incorrect responses to the examination will be ranked higher than the others.

  1. If the number of incorrect answers is the same, a candidate with higher aggregate in Part B of the question paper will be ranked higher than the others.
  2. If the marks obtained in Part B are equal, a candidate with fewer incorrect answers in Part B of the question paper will be ranked higher than the others.
  3. If all of the above parameters are equal, the candidate who is older in age will be ranked higher than the others.

NEET SS Result 2020: The Rank list

As mentioned above, all candidates who have scored the 50th percentile or above will be declared qualified.

However, such candidates will have applied for a variety of super specialty courses.

NBE, therefore, prepares separate ranking lists for each super specialty course.

Applicants who have qualified for the NEET SS result and have applied for the 'X' super specialty course will only be included in the ranking list for this course.

The NEET SS 2020 ranking list will be drawn upon the basis of the marks obtained in the examination and application of the tie-breaking criteria, wherever necessary.

NEET SS Cutoff 2020 will be released along with the results.
