The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) announced the postponement of the counseling sessions for NEET SS 2020-21 to be held on October 8, Thursday. The officials made the news public by issuing a notice on the official website.
The MCC has not rescheduled the final plan for the counseling sessions of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2020-21. As per the earlier schedule, counseling sessions were to begin from October 8 and end on October 11 (5 pm).

The National Board of Examinations held the NEET SS exam on September 15 in online mode. The result for NEET SS 2020 was announced on September 25 on the official website.
The authorities decided to postpone the Super Speciality/ DNB SS counseling 2020 due to reservation issues. An official court case is going on regarding the service reservation issue between Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The official notice stated that “Keeping in view the in-service reservation issue which has arisen out of Tamil Nadu and Kerala (WA. No. 1302 of 2020 at High Court of Kerala at Ernakulam), it has been decided by the competent authority to postpone the Super Speciality/ DNB SS counseling 2020 till further orders”.

About NEET SS 2020-21
The NEET SS 2020 is a National level exam held for admission to DM/ MCh courses ( Doctorate of Medicine/ Master of Chirurgiae). The exam was conducted in computer-based mode. Due to COVID-19, various precautionary measures were taken.
The test was conducted across 3,843 examination centers with 12 students present in a particular exam hall. Despite the Coronavirus active cases, over 85% of the registered candidates appeared for the exam.
