The special NEET exam conducted on Wednesday, despite being a relatively low-key affair, had its fair share of drama. Although at the Nagpur centre, only three candidates were expected, another three showed up for the examination.

The three candidates who appeared for NEET Special Exam 2020 did not submit their health certificates, hence their registration was incomplete.

Centre officials refused to speak to the media, citing strict National Testing Agency (NTA) instructions.

However, both the observers and those from the host centre went beyond the call of duty to help, based on information from applicants.

The parents of one of the candidates said that they were not aware of the need to submit a health certificate.

Last month, our child was unable to appear for the exam. Now, even when the decision to conduct the second examination was announced, we were not informed of any submission of certificates,' said the parent.

The certificate was available to another candidate, but he forgot to take it to the exam centre.

The candidate then contacted members of his family who had located the document well in time.

On WhatsApp, a copy of the medical certificate was sent to the candidate, thus permitting entry.

Another candidate had also forgotten to submit online documents, but officials decided to help overcome the problem of paperwork.

All six ultimately showed up for the test. With the figures being so low, there was neither a problem of accommodating demand for additional stationery nor was there any social distancing issue.

Three students whose online registration was incomplete were required to sign an undertaking stating that their examination could be deemed invalid if it was found that any information (medical certificate, etc.) was incorrect.

One of the candidates, whose registration process had been completed, said that they had all tried the paper in the same room.

"Yes, those three joined us as well, and everything went smoothly," the candidate said, adding that the paper could be described as 'moderately easy' overall. It was definitely simple in the biology section and chemistry was average. But I thought physics was tough, ”the candidate said.

NEET 2020 Results for all candidates will be announced on 16 October.
