New Delhi: Supreme Court has directed Madhya Pradesh to conduct the state mop-up round of NEET PG Counselling 2022 afresh The court has given time till November 26, 2022 to the state to complete the state mop-up round for registered candidates.
As per Supreme Court, the decision to conduct the mop-up round of NEET PG Counselling 2022 afresh was taken due to the declaration of results for state mop-up round counselling before the All India Quota (AIQ) Mop-up round results.
Informing about the decision, the bench comprising the Chief Justice of India, Justice Hima Kohli and Justice JB PArdiwala said, "We are of the view that it would be necessary for the State of MP to conduct State Mop-Up Round of counselling afresh".
“This was necessitated because AIQ Round was completed on November 19, 2022. The results of the State Mop-Up have to be notified as it stands after AIQ seats have been allotted. In relation to the State of MP, the following schedule is to be maintained" it noted.
The Supreme Court has given the time till November 26, 2022 to the authorities to conduct the Madhya Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2022 mop-up round after dropping the applicants who have participated in the All India Quota round.
This step was taken by the SC in view of the petition filed because of the state's act of declaring the result of MP Counselling 2022 mop-up round results of NEET PG before AIQ rounds. Due to this, candidates were able to block seats in both rounds of counselling.
Earlier, while informing about state mp-up round should only commence after the AIQ mo-up round, the bench justice had noted, "In order to ensure finality in the process of NEET PG Counselling, we direct all state and union territories to finish the second round till November 16".
"The counselling for an mp-up round shall then be carried out by the competent authority. State of Maharashtra shall commence with state mop-up round only after AIQ mop-round is over", it added.
After reviewing the petition, Ms Aishwarya Bhati, the CJI informed AAG, Madhya Pradesh - "You have to redo your State Mop-Up. Fresh lists can be drawn after dropping those who have already made it in the All India Round”.
“You will have to redo your State Mop-up. We can give time till November 26, 2022” it added. Following the statement, MS Bhati urged the counselling cell not to delay the mop-round counselling as it has already disturbed the NEET PG Counselling 2022 Schedule.
