New Delhi: Union Health Minister has postponed the NEET PG Counselling 2022 for admission to various medical postgraduate and undergraduate courses. The counselling session for registered candidates is now expected to start in the third week of September 2022.

NEET PG Counselling 2022 Postponed, Likely to be Held in 3rd Week of September

As per the report, the Union Ministry has decided to deferred the counselling schedule for NEET PG 2022 to provide the National Medical Commission (NMC) with enough time to complete the process of adding new admission seats for candidates. 

Earlier, the NEET PG Counselling 2022 was scheduled to commence on September 01, 2022, for all registered candidates. The tentative schedule for the same is now being rescheduled and will be released soon on the official website at mcc.nic.in.

Informing about the change in NEET PG Dates 2022 , "the NEET PG Counselling 2022 was scheduled from September 1. However, NMC is in the process of issuing new Letters of Permissions (LoPs) for the current academic year, which will be concluded by September 15”.

“Hence, in order to include more seats in the counselling for the benefit of the candidates, it has been decided by the competent authority to re-schedule the NEET-PG Counselling, 2022 which was scheduled to commence from September 1, 2022 ” the notice further reads. 

Usually, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate), NEET-PG is held in the month of January, and the counselling process for the same starts in March. However, this year, the schedule has been deadly further due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country. 

For the 2022 session, the admission entrance test was held on May 21, 2022, and the NEET PG 2022 Result for the same was declared on June 01, 2022. The counselling session was expected to start on September 01, which has now been delayed until further notice. 

The NEET PG 2022 Counselling is expected to be held for around 52,000 admission seats. Based on marks secured in the entrance test, candidates will be allotted admission seats in the top NEET PG score accepting universities and colleges in India.
