New Delhi: With the NEET PG Examination 2023 being just one month away, candidates have already begun to request for a postponement. The Telangana High Court, however, haf declined to order the postponement of the exam while hearing two different petitions concerning NEET PG.
The Supreme Court has received a separate petition from candidates for the NEET PG 2023 exam to be postponed. Although the hearing date has not yet been set, given the urgency of the situation, it is likely that the petition will be considered soon.
The National Chairman of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), Dr. Rohan Krishnan, has been actively involved in demanding to postpone the NEET PG examination by May-June 2023.
Apart from the Supreme Court, the NEET aspirants also filed a case in the Telangana High Court regarding the postponement of NEET PG Exam. According to the reports, the Telangana High Court has asked the NMC to consider a delay in the exam and give a decision in the next two weeks.
In light of the disruption to the academic calendar and the studies of graduate medical students during the past few years, the candidates for the NEET exam are asking for a three-month postponement of the exam.
The Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya indicated that the NEET PG 2023 exam will be held on March 5, 2023, in response to questions about this issue in the Lok Sabha.
Mandaviya said in Lok Sabha that the NEET PG 2023 exam must take place on March 5, which was announced five months ago and the students who must take the entrance exam have already started preparing.
The minister further added that the schedule has been made in accordance to get the academic year back on track after the COVID-19 pandemic.
After candidates, the doctor associations and many NEET PG Aspirants carried out a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, MoHFW had decided to extend the internship deadline.
The MoHFW had extended the NEET PG internship deadline from June 30, 2023 to August 11, 2023. Moreover, the NEET MDS internship deadline was also extended to June 30, 2023
