NEET PG

New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has dismissed the plea to postpone NEET PG 2023 Exam today, February 27, 2023.

The ASG Aishwarya Bhati told Supreme Court today that the postponement demand is only by a minority number of students. “In the first window, nearly two lakh three thousand students applied. Only six thousand students applied after the internship deadline was extended,” ASG said. She also assured the bench that the NBE plans to commence counselling process by July 15. The candidates who are yet to complete their internship will be dealt on a case-by-case scenario later.

“For those who are waiting for this (examination), it is really a mental torture,” the bench observed, adding, “When we postpone a judicial exam, there is agony for the candidates who are preparing for it. The whole dynamics change.” the bench said.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of India had scheduled a hearing for the two petitions filed for postponement of NEET-PG 2023 Exam on February 24, 2023. The NEET PG 2023 Exam will be held on March 5, 2023.

A bench comprising Justices S Ravindra Bhat and Dipankar Datta is hearing the matter.

The NEET PG 2023 applicants have petitioned to both postpone the exam, which is planned to be held on March 5, 2023, and to extend the deadline for internship applications. Some students who are completing their internship have asked for the exam to be delayed since they are having trouble finding enough time to study.

“The NEET PG aspirants will not be able to apply for jobs during this time as there is a dearth of jobs in the medical industry and people usually don’t offer jobs for such short time periods. Due to this, the few months between the exam and counselling will be a complete waste for students. If the authorities delay the NEET PG, at least students will be able to study properly and then get better scores, rather than wasting time,” Dr Rakesh Bagdi Gurjar, former FAIMA chief told.
