Supreme court has issued directives that state, “After the second round of counselling for All India Quota seats, the students who take admission in All India Quota seats should not be allowed/ permitted to vacate the seats.”

The order further states, “The students who take admission and secure admission in Deemed Universities pursuant to the second round of counselling conducted by the DGHS shall not be eligible to participate in any other counselling.”

If a student is allotted a seat in Second Round NEET 2020 Counselling, candidates can exit by forfeiting security amount. Registered candidates eligible for Round-2 counselling are as follows:

  • Candidates who were not allotted seats in the first round.
  • Candidates who were allotted seats but did not attend.
  • Candidates who surrendered their seat from the first round.
  • Candidates who reported at the institute allotted in round-1 but also chose willingness for round-2.
  • Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round but cancelled later due to deficiencies in documents. Such candidates can reapply with changed category provided seats are available in that category as well.

There is no procedure for automatic carry over, hence candidates who applied for Round-1 have to again apply for Round-2. Similarly, for choice-filling, choices filled in Round-1 will be null and void and candidates have to freshly select for Round-2 as well.
