Informing about the decision, the official notice reads, "NTA has allowed affected students to re-appear for NEET UG on September 4 in Kollam. The re-examination will also be held for the affected candidates of two centers in Rajasthan, two in Madhya Pradesh and one in Uttar Pradesh".

Earlier, on July 17, 2022, during the commencement of the NEET UG 2022 exam around the country, the guardian of a NEET aspirant alleged that female students were asked to remove their innerwear.

The incident happened when girl students reached the Marthoma Institute of Information Technology, Ayur, Kollam to give their medical entrance examinations. As per the reports, the exam personnel asked the candidates to remove their bra and underwear during frisking.

Following this, the authorities of the National Commission for Women and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights filed complaints against the NEET frisking personnel on July 19, 2022, and demanded justice for the discrimination.

Talking about the report, Kerala Education Minister, R Bindu said, "it is sure to have impacted the mental bearing of the students while writing the exam. Such an act, carried out without even taking basic human rights into consideration, was completely irresponsible, to say the least".

After reviewing the complaints, the NTA formed a fact-finding committee that visited Kollam and submitted the report on this matter to the council. After which, a total of 7 coordinators along with NEET frisking personnel were arrested.
