NEET 2021 is expected to be held in the first week of May, this year. However, to clear all such speculations, Union Education Minister has officially announced that NEET 2021 registration and exam dates will be released within the next 15 days (by January 26, 2021).

Accordingly, once the application window of NEET 2021 is activated, MBBS aspirants have to fill the application form in online mode (nta.neet.nic.in). Till then, candidates need to regularly check the official website to stay updated on the examination and registration schedule.

As per the announcement by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, CBSE Board Exams 2021 for Class 12 will be scheduled in March, further delaying the NEET 2021 Exam Dates to be in June or July.

Earlier, National Testing Agency (NTA) stated a possibility to conduct the entrance exam twice a year, however it sought approval from Ministry of Heath. NTA is a government agency established by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI) for administering entrance exams held in the country for admission to higher education institutions.

NEET is conventionally held once a year, and this new improvisation can be a relief for medical aspirants. In view of COVID-19 pandemic, the entrance exam was considerably delayed in 2020, hence once the CBSE 2021 dates are declared, students urge to reveal the dates for NEET 2021 Registration and exam.

Meanwhile, with the announcement of CBSE Board Exams 2021 time table, many states have also decided to conduct state board exams accordingly for CBSE Classes 10 and 12. The Assam Board has decided to commence the state board examinations on May 12, 2021, while board exams in Himachal Pradesh will be held from May 4 onwards.

Similarly, the Odisha Board has decided to begin exams from May 15. The tentative dates for board exams across the country will make it nearly impossible for NEET 2021 to be conducted in May 2021.

While there hasn't been any announcement regarding the NEET 2021 exam schedule, Pokhriyal had announced earlier that NTA is planning to conduct the exam twice this year. It should be also noted by candidates that the exam will be held in online mode this year. The candidates will be given 3 hours to answer a total of 180 Multiple Choice type Questions (MCQ).
