In an official notification, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has assured that the NEET 2020 result announced on October 16 is absolutely correct. NTA stated that the result for NEET 2020 was prepared after thorough scrutiny and that there are no errors in it.
A recent media report claimed that a candidate with 329 marks had challenged the result of NEET 2020, after which his marks had been revised to 650.
With reference to this news, NTA has clearly stated that no such incident has occurred. The notification read, 'The news is completely fake, fabricated and one side only. The news channel should have been confirmed by NTA before broadcasting the fake news.'
In the same notification, NTA noted that students/parents had sent emails about the errors in the answers on the OMR sheets on the day of the exam and those available online.
Concerns have also been raised about the variation in the scorecard released on October 16 and now available. NTA has assured that all genuine grievances will be dealt with in time.
NEET 2020 took place on 13 September and 14 October. The examination was carried out in 155 test cities and 3,862 test centres on 13 September.
However, many candidates were unable to appear on the test date for NEET 2020. As directed by the Supreme Court of India, the NEET 2020 re-test was carried out on 14 October in 110 test centres across 110 test cities. The result of NEET 2020 was announced on 16 October.
