Responding to the previous plea filed by students and parents across India to postpone NEET 2020 even further, MCI on August 22, Filed an Affidavit in the supreme court mentioning that further postponement of the exam can lead to change in the academic calendar and commencement of medical Courses in Institutes. Medical Council of India also stated that any further change in the schedule of NEET 2020 can change the Academic Calendar of forthcoming years.

In addition, more than 4000 students from Gulf Countries have filed a plea asking to increase the number of exam centre overseas. The students have mentioned in the plea about the seizure of international Flight amid pandemic, and it is challenging to travel to India in order to appear for the national level medical Exam.

MCI in reply to dismiss the postponed plea said that emergency flights are running under Vande Bharat Mission and overseas citizens and Indian national can visit India.

Moreover, the Medical Council also proposed to cancel NEET 2020 at overseas exam centre. The Council says that the exam must be conducted in a single session on the same day, therefore it is not feasible to conduct the exam overseas. MCI supporting its statement mentioned that Logistics issues, Different time zones and confidentiality of the exam can compromise the fair conduct of exam.
