NEET 2020 counselling is expected to begin in the last week of October. Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will be conducting the counselling on behalf of the Directorate-General for Health Sciences for 15% of the AIQ seats. Following the announcement of the dates for NEET 2020 counselling by the MCC, various States will also release the schedules for their counselling.

National Testing Agency ( NTA) announced the NEET 2020 Results on 16 October. In addition to the results, the NTA also released the NEET 2020 cutoffs.

NEET 2020 Counselling Types

Candidates must note that there are three types of NEET counselling 2020 that will be conducted for UG medical admissions in India. Candidates who have qualified for the examination may participate in any of the following NEET counselling sessions:

• MCC NEET counselling: 15 per cent AIQ, central and recognised universities
• State Quota Counselling: 85 per cent of state quota seats
• AYUSH counselling: for admission to BAMS, BHMS, BSMS and BUMS courses.

Important Guidelines for Candidates Wishing to Change Nationality from Indian to NRI

Candidates who claim to be NRI should send relevant documents in support of their claim for change of nationality from Indian/Other to NRI through E-Mail nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com from 10 AM of October 21 till 10 AM of October 23. All such candidates are advised to be in touch with the MCC website @mcc.nic.in for further course of action. Mails received after the stipulated time will not be entertained. 

Candidates should send the following documents through email:

1. Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer).
2. Relationship of NRI with the candidate as per the court orders of The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in case W.P.(c) No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Ans. Vs Union of India & Ors. dated 22-08- 2017.
3. Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/ she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized.
4. Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate).
5. NEET Score Card of Candidate

569 Delhi Govt School Students Crack NEET

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who praised these accomplish, said on Tuesday that 569 Delhi government school students had passed the National Eligibility Cum Entry Test (NEET)—the entrance examination for medical courses — this year, the results of which were announced last Friday.

"379 (67%) of the 569 Delhi government school students who cracked NEET this year are girls. At least 48 of these students scored more than 500 out of 720 NEET. At least 29 of these students are from Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya (SKV) in MolarBand, 24 from SKV Yamina Vihar (C1) and 23 from SKV Noor Nagar. Girls from Delhi government schools performed really well in the medical entrance test, "said Kejriwal.

Among the students lauded by Kejriwal during a digital press conference was Tamanna Goyal, 20, who did not know about the existence of NEET till she passed from Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya (RPVV) in Rohini Sec-11 in 2018. She lives with her mother, a staffer at a private doctor’s clinic, and a younger brother, in Shahbad Dairy.

She has scored 695 marks in NEET and secured 11th rank in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.

Khush Garg, 18, who secured the 709 all-India rank in NEET could not join a coaching class due to his family’s financial condition. A resident of Krishna Nagar, whose father runs a small shop in Shahdara, Garg said that with the help of his school teachers in RPVV Gandhi Nagar, he managed to clear NEET.

This year, 443 Delhi government school students cleared the JEE (Main) and, of them 53 further cracked the JEE (Advanced) for admission in IITs.
