Forty-one students scored 100 percentile marks in late-night MHT-CET 2020 results. Pune's Sanika Gumaste and Anish Jagdale were ranked first in the PCM (Physics Chemistry Mathematics) and PCB (Physics Chemistry Biology) groups, respectively.

The results of MHT-CET are used in state engineering, pharmacy and agriculture. The October examination had more than 5.4 lakhs registered, but only 3.8 lakhs-71.2 per cent were registered. A total of 1.6 lakh girls and 2.2 lakh boys have taken part in the exam. This year, JEE (Main) took place (in September) almost a month before the MHT-CET and the results were also published in the same month. Early results may have given many high-scoring students a chance to opt-out of MHT-CET.

MHT CET cell scheduled an additional MHT-CET session on 7 November for students whose examinations had been disrupted or could not be held due to the power outage at the beginning of October.

The centralised admission process for engineering courses is likely to begin this week. Without a Maratha quota, community students may lose seats in leading government colleges.
