New Delhi: Lucknow University has announced that they have received a record 800 applications from international students for the academic year 2022-2023. Students from 50 different countries have submitted applications for pursuing higher studies at Lucknow University.
Lucknow University has received 766 admission forms from foreign students through Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). ICCR admission window was open till May 31, 2022. But the university informed that direct admissions are still underway.
Candidates from Ghana, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Guinea, and many more have applied to Lucknow University for the academic year 2022-2023. This year the number of self-funded students is high than in the past years.
Alok Kumar Rai, Vice-Chancellor Lucknow University, said “The record applications of international students is indicative of high standards of education and research imparted by the university, besides offering various facilities.” As per reports, most of the applicants are from African countries. Students from Ghana, Cambodia, Nigeria, Angola, Trinidad and Tobago, Mozambique, Mauritius, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka have applied for LU admission 2022. The university also received applications for the first time from countries like Turkmenistan, Lithuania, Guinea, Comoros, Uzbekistan, Trinidad and Tobago, Angola and others.”
A Lucknow University Spokesperson said to Hindustan Times, “In the past years the number of self-funded applications remained far too less.”

- The university has received 35 applications from the self-finance category.
- Around 800 students have applied at Lucknow University for the academic year 2022-2023.
- 766 students have applied to Lucknow University through ICCR.
- Students from 50 different countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Guinea, and many more have applied this year.
- The ICCR admission portal was open till May 31, 2022. But the university informed that direct admissions are still underway.
