Amid the various voices to postpone NEET, JEE 2020, NSUI President Neeraj Kundan also wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the postponement. The NSUI President stated that amid the novel coronavirus pandemic students’ life is at a risk and therefore NEET, JEE Main 2020 must be postponed.

JEE Main 2020 is scheduled to be conducted from September 01 to September 06, 2020, while NEET 2020 will be conducted on September 13, 2020.

NTA and the Education Ministry have denied deferring from the schedule and have made press releases to officially notify the students. Check Details Here.

Kundan wrote, "With about 26 lakh students registered for the entrance exams and lakhs of final-year students, the exercise will lend much greater possibility to the spread of Covid-19,". He further added that "Furthermore, the cycle will never cease and only act as a catalyst, endangering more vulnerable lives,".

Questioning the authorities about their measures to ensure social distancing with such large number of people, Kundan wrote, "If it is not ensured properly, it will be an invitation to a health hazard or a 'man-made disaster',"

The NSUI leader highlighted that because of the public transport remaining suspended due to COVID-19, it would be difficult for students to travel. Also, there are several students in states battling flood crises which would further be a problem to many.

"I humbly request the Prime Minister to look into these prime concerns. I hope that he will take the best decision, as students' safety is of paramount concern."- Neeraj Kundan, NSUI President.
