The last date for registering for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2020 has been extended till October 30. Students can apply for the entrance exam at kvpy.iisc.ernet.in.

Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has scheduled the KVPY exam to be held on January 31, 2021. This is the second time that the authority has extended the registration deadline. The initial deadline for the registration process was October 5 that was further extended till October 19.

The selection is based on the Aptitude test and Interview test. Due to COVID-19, the selection is considered only based on the aptitude test.

KVPY 2020 Registration: Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates must check whether they are eligible to take the exam or not. The eligibility criteria for the KVPY 2020 is given under:

  • Stream SA: Students studying in 11th standard for the 2020-21 having Science stream are eligible for the KVPY exam. Also, the candidate must have scored a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in total in Science and Mathematics. 
  • Stream SX: Students studying in 12th standard for the 2020-21 having Science stream are eligible for the KVPY exam. Also, the students must be going for an Undergraduate program in Basic sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) with at least 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate in Maths and Science subjects.
  • Stream SB: Students studying in 1st year of UG in Basic Science as stream are eligible to apply for this exam. Also, the students must have scored a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the XII Standard Board.

KVPY 2020 Registration process: Steps to apply

Aspirants must follow these steps to confirm the registration process:

  • Visit the official website of KVPY kvpy.iisc.ernet.in
  • Go to the ‘Applications’ tab. On the right-hand side, click on the ‘Registration and Application login’ link.
  • A new screen will appear. Scroll down and tick the checkbox that asks to agree to Terms & Conditions.
  • Click on ‘Click here for Register’ link. Enter the details asked such as Date of Birth, name, e-mail id, etc.
  • Log in with the credentials sent and fill the details as asked
  • Upload the various documents and images.
  • Pay the application fee via a suitable payment mode. (General: Rs 1250, SC/ST: Rs 625)
  •  Submit the form and download the same.
  • Take a print out of the application form for future usage.

  • Valid Email ID and Mobile Number
  • Scanned copies of photograph, signature, caste certificates, and medical certificate (for PWD).
