The King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow has commenced a community radio service to make people aware of health-related issues and their solutions.
The program will be turned into 89.6 MHz and will be running from 10 am to 2 pm. This is an initiative taken in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Vinod Jain, CSM at the department of surgery said, " The community radio has been started by KGMU with the aim to reach out to the masses and to solve their doubts regarding health-related issues. We applied to the Centre in 2017, and have been allotted a frequency now. The premises as per standard was built, which was inaugurated on June 12, 2020."
He also added that apart from public health, the community radio will also run educational programs for medical, para-medical, and nursing students. The center's policies and KGMU's facilities will also be promoted via radio so that the maximum number of people can benefit from it.
