New Delhi: As per Karnataka High Court's order, Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has declared the KCET Revised Results 2022 on October 01, 2022 based on the new ranking formula. The results has been announced for candidates on the official website at kea.kar.nic.in.

As per KEA, the revised results for KCET 2022 will be prepared on the basis of the new ranking formula suggested by the technical committee. The ranking formula will be applied to candidates who have passed Karnataka's second PUC in the academic session 2020-21.

Informing about the formula, the council led by DR. B. Thimme Gowda, Vice Chairman of the Karnataka State Higher Education Council stated that to prepare for the new rankings, the marks of 2021 PU students will be deducted in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.

The council suggested, "the qualifying marks of 2021 PU batch students shall be deducted by an average of 6 marks in Physics, 5 marks in Chemistry, and 7 marks in Mathematics, resulting in a total deduction of 6 marks for 100 qualifying marks".

As per the data, over 2 lakh candidates have registered for KCET 2022 examination this year. The exam was held for shortlisting candidates for admission to various undergraduate courses offered in Government, Private Aided, and Private un-aided institutions in Karnataka.

Soon after the exam commencement, the KCET Result 2022 was declared for all candidates to check and download on July 30, 2022. The officials informed that the ranking of 2021 batch students will be based on the 50:50 ratio of PU-II marks and the entrance exam marks.

Following this, the students who were not satisfied with the KCET 2022 ranking criteria approached the Karnataka High Court to challenge the KEA's decision. The plea was submitted against KEA's decision to not consider 2020-21 PU marks for entrance to professional courses.

After reviewing the situation, the High Court instructed the exam authority to recreate the entire rank list of KCET 2022 after taking into account 50% of all PUC marks of all students and 50% of their CET results. The revised ranks will be declared on the official website on October 01, 2022.
