Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2020 (KCET) exam to begin today in the Karnataka. The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday had passed the order and asked the state government to ensure that candidates who want to appear for the exam should not be stopped.
In this regard, the state government has released Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that candidates appearing for KCET 2020 must know. The Department of Education, Karnataka has released the official notification for the aspirants.
The Authorities had already postponed the PG-CET and Diploma-CET exams as final year exams are still pending for the aspirants. The Karnataka PG-CET 2020 and Diploma-CET 2020 were scheduled to be conducted on August 8 to August 9 and August 9, 2020, respectively.
The Number of exam centers has been increased across the state due to COVID-19 Pandemic. The number has been increased from 431 to 497 centers in 120 districts across Karnataka. Also, the centers for the Kannada exam have been increased and extended to districts of neighboring states i.e. Mangalore, Belgaum, Bijapur, Ballari, Bidar, and Bengaluru.
Thermal Screening, social distancing, and face masks will be strictly followed and all the exam centers will be sanitized.
For COVID-19 positive students, the exam conducting authority has been instructed to arrange transportation through ambulance.
Candidates coming from containment zones have been allowed to come out with their parents showing their hall ticket as a travel pass
