How to Check JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment?

The authorities will conduct six rounds of JoSAA Seat Allocation. The candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps to download the provisional seat allotment letter.

  • Visit the official website.
  • Locate and click on the link for JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment
  • Login to the portal using the required credentials.
  • Seat Allotment Letter will be displayed on the screen.
  • Download and take a printout for future reference.

JoSAA 2021 Seat Allotment: Options for Candidates

After the conclusion of each round of the counselling process, the candidates need to choose one among the following.

  • Freeze: Selecting this option would mean that the candidates have accepted the offered seat and are content with the allocated academic program. Hence,they do not want to participate in further rounds of seat allocation. These candidates will not be considered for subsequent rounds of admission.
  • Float: Selecting this option would mean that the candidate has accepted the offer but if admissions are offered to the higher preference institute, they will accept it. Otherwise, they will continue with the currently accepted academic program. Such candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of admission.
  • Slide: This means that candidates have accepted the offered seat and that if admission to an academic program of better / higher preference is offered within the same Institute, they will accept it. Such candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of admission.

The ministry of education has set up JoSAA 2021. It manages and regulates the joint seat allocation for admissions to 110 institutes based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 29 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). The candidates are offered admissions to these institutes through a common platform i.e JoSAA.
