JoSAA 2020 Counseling Registration process to tentatively start from October 6. However, the complete schedule is yet to be announced. 

JoSAA Counseling is conducted for admissions into B.Tech programs at 23 IITs, 25 IIITs, 31 NITs and 28 other- GFTIs. 

JEE Main Admit Card has been released, the exam is scheduled from September 1 to Septemeber 6, 2020.

After the JoSAA Counseling, candidates are required to enter their preference of institutes and engineering programs. This would be followed by an announcement for seat allocation in seven rounds after every JoSAA counseling. 

The step-wise process for JoSAA 2020 counseling is:

  • Register for JoSAA Couseling 2020
  • Fill and lock the choice of institute 
  • Mock seat allocation
  • Seat allotment results would be announced
  • Pay seat acceptance fees
  • Report at reporting centers
  • Allotted institute would provide a confirmation to the student

Fees for seat allotment through JoSAA for General candidates is 35,000 and 15,000 for reserved candidates.

Candidates who qualify JEE Main 2020 will be eligible for admissions into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. 

However, for admissions in IITs, students among the top 2,50,000 rank will be allowed and required to clear JEE Advanced 2020. JoSAA counseling and seat allocation in this case will be done on the basis of ranks secured in JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2020.
