Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) admission for 2020 has seen a 22% rise in the applications since the past year. About 1.35 lakh interested students applied for JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE) 2020.

The reports have been confirmed by Prof Jagdeesh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, JNU. Earlier, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had extended the last dates to edit JNUEE application forms till July 20, 2020. 

JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE) 2020 will be jointly conducted for the second time in a row by JNU and NTA for admissions into courses offered by the university at UG, PG, M.Phil and PhD.

As per the latest video message shared on Twitter by the VC, the university has received applications across all states and union territories. He claimed, students have accepted this online transition for JNU Admissions 2020.

This year, JNU received applications from different social categories and higher representation from women candidates as well. However, considering the survey report by JNU teachers, there is a stark difference as 40% of the students are facing serious issues in taking online classes.

The university took to online support to complete its courses and avoid academic loss during the pandemic and nationwide lockdown. The report also claims that 97% of JNU’s faculty did not receive any technical support from the university for continuing with online education.

Coming to previous year’s trends on applications, a total of 1,16,558 candidates applied for admissions into 3,3,83 seats for undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil and PhD programs. 

This year, examination dates are yet not released and application correction dates have been extended multiple times to avoid commuting.
