Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) MBBS program admission for the 2020 session will be based on the score of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020. The JIPMER MBBS entrance exam has now been scrapped.

According to the decision taken by the admission authority, the JIPMER MBBS exam has now been replaced by NEET. Available admission seats for two campuses of JIPMER are 200, for which students now will be selected on the basis of NEET score

JIPMER MBBS 2020 Admission Process

Students who are seeking admission in the MBBS program of JIPMER 2020 will have to appear for the National  Eligibility cum Entrance Exam Test. The entrance exam is conducted by the National Test Agency of India (NTA). 

The NEET Registration begins from December 2, 2020. Students who're interested in appearing for the exam have to fill the application form available on the NTA website. The Question paper of NEET will have a total of 180 Multiple choice based questions, out of which each will carry a weightage of 4 marks.

The National Test Agency will publish the NEET results for the same on its website soon after the declaration of NEET results, tentatively by October 12, 2020

For those who're interested in seeking admission in JIPMER MBBS, clearing the NEET exam is a must. The college does not accept any other marks or scores for admission purposes. 

The counselling process will be held for the process of selecting candidates based on their NEET Score. The counselling session will be held by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Director General of health services, Union Health, and family welfare minister.

JIPMER has a total of 200 MBBS seats combining its Pundcherry campus (150) and Karaikal campus (50) Separate entrance examination will not be conducted for the MBBS course in Puducherry and Karaikal campus. 

Out of 51 reserved seats, 6 seats are reserved for overseas students (OCI) and non-resident Indians (NRI). 45 seats are reserved for students from the union territory of Puducherry.
