As per JCECEB, the admission process will start for a total of 755 admission seats to registered students offered in eight medical colleges of Jharkhand, which includes seats in three new medical colleges in Palamu, Dumka, and Hazaribagh.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has sent a letter approving the student's enrollment in MBBS in this regard. The health department officials stated that enrollment has now been authorized for 100 seats in each of the new colleges.

Notably, the JCECEB has received a recommendation for counselling and information regarding the available seats from the Health Department. With this, the admission process will commence soon for all interested and eligible candidates.

Out of the total available seats, 83 seats will be filled through JCECEB under the state quota. Earlier, even though these colleges were prepared for admissions, they were unable to admit students due to their lack of National Medical Commission recognition.

However, this year, there will be 100 seats available at Lakshmi Chandravanshi Medical College in Palamu, and 25 admission seats will be offered at Manipal Tata Medical College in Jamshedpur.

Following the admission criteria, students will be accepted to medical colleges based on their NEET scores, state quota, and reservation criteria. The seats are allotted during the medical counselling session based on their UG NEET All India Rank and State Merit List.

Informing about the admission process, the officials informed that the state quota seats in medical colleges have been distributed based on category. This guarantees the general quota of students 40 percent of the state-level seats.

In addition to this, 10% of seats are reserved under the EWS quota, 10% under the SC quota, 26% for the ST quota, 8% for BC I, and 6% of seats will be offered to students under the BC II category.

It can be noted that the JCECEB is in charge of handling admissions to the state's medical colleges. Students may submit applications to participate in the counselling session. The state-level merit list will be created based on the applications submitted.

Further, the students can attend the subsequent counselling session based on the merit list. Then, the counselling session is conducted in various phases depending on the number of available seats in medical colleges in the state.

If any seats remain vacant after the first three stages, the seats will be offered to the students through the mop-up rounds and strategic round counselling. In case of vacant seats, a special round counselling is carried out for allotting seats to students.
