In a recent interview with DD News, Union Education Minister Mr, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ assured parents and students that the JEE and NEET 2020 would be held with utmost safety.
The exams are scheduled to be held in September with JEE Main 2020 on September 01 to September 06 while NEET 2020 on September 13, 2020.
Amid all the chaos and demands being made by students and several CMs and ministers, NTA and the Education Ministry confirmed that the entrances would be held as scheduled.
The Education Minister told DD News in the interview, “students and guardians constantly put pressure on us to conduct NEET & JEE exams. SC too opined that full academic year can’t be wasted. After two deferments, exam dates have been finalized. 85% of JEE aspirants have already downloaded their admit cards!”
NTA released the NEET 2020 Admit Cards for about 15 lakh students. Reportedly within the first three hours, 4 lakh students had already downloaded their admit cards.
As far as JEE Main 2020 Admit Cards are concerned, 7.5 lakh of 8.58 lakh applicants have already downloaded their hall ticket.
In a video message, Mr. Pokhriyal said, “Parents and students through email and social media have said that the exams should be conducted in September,”
The Minister said that the National Technology Agency will be conducting JEE/NEET keeping in view the 72 guidelines under SOPs issued by UGC.
The Minister also stated that since the exams have already been postponed twice before, they cannot be further postponed. He said that a year should not be wasted.
In a notice published by NTA, it confirmed that the exams would be held as scheduled, Thereafter detailed COVID-19 Advisory for both the entrance was released. NTA stated that it has made elaborate plans to safely conduct the exams.
