Indian Army has made it compulsory to pass the JEE Main exam for Technical Entry Scheme (TES) 46 aspirants. The notification has been updated on the official website: joinindianarmy.nic.in.

As per the recently issued notification for Technical Entry Scheme (TES), 10+2 candidates aspiring to apply for Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme Recruitment should have passed 12th class with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Additionally, scores of JEE Main have been mandatory for TES- 46 Course from the year 2021 onwards.

The official notice on Indian Army’s website reads, “TES (10+2) ENTRY-46 COURSE : JAN 2022. ONLINE APPLICATIONS FOR TES-46 WILL OPEN ON JOININDIANARMY.NIC.IN IN THE MONTH OF JUL-AUG 2021. JEE MAINS HAS BEEN MADE OBLIGATORY FOR TES-46 COURSE. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO THE CRITERIA OF MINIMUM MARKS IN PCM IN CLASS 12th.”

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for Indian Army TES 2021 Course by registering themselves at joinindianarmy.nic.in website, once the link is activated. Online applications for TES 46 will open in the month of July - August 2021.

Indian Army TES 46: Eligibility Criteria

The following were the minimum eligibility requirements for Indian Army TES recruitments up until now:

  • Candidates must be an Indian/subject of Nepal or Bhutan/Tibetan refugee (under special considerations)/migrants (under special considerations).
  • Applicants must be aged between 16.5 and 19.5 Years old.
  • The minimum educational qualification required is Class 12 pass.
  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 by studying the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • One must have secured at least 70% marks in aggregate in the aforementioned subjects

All of the above mentioned criteria will be unchanged although from now on candidates will now have to clear JEE Mains before they can appear in the TES 46 Exam. Passing the JEE Main exam is an additional eligibility criteria to minimum marks in PCM in class 12th from now on, the army clarified. 

Candidates should expect the army to release the official TES 46 advertisement indicating the specifics of the recruitment when online registrations for the TES 46 begin in July-August 2021. 

The full and up-to-date eligibility requirements can be found in the advertisement, which will be available on the official website joinindianarmy.nic.in as soon as it is published.

Applicants of Indian Army Tes 46 2021 should note that Joint Entrance Exam Main is held by National Testing Agency every year and in the year 2021 NTA will conduct the exam in four sessions instead of two just for the candidates to improve their scores in the multiple chances in the mindset of the pandemic situation.

First two sessions have already been conducted in February and March 2021 and therefore TES 46 aspirants still have a chance to appear and clear the JEE Mains exam in the upcoming two sessions as April and May session was postponed by NTA because of the Covid - 19 Pandemic.

Registration window of JEE Main 2021 May sessions will open soon on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates are advised to register for the same if they have not already appeared in previous sessions as passing in the JEE Main 2021 has been made obligatory for recruitment into the army through Indian Army TES 46 January 2022 recruitment.
