As most of the states seemed divided on holding JEE Main and NEET 2020 in September, Madhya Pradesh (MP) state government has come up with a plan for conducting exams as per schedule.
Earlier on Thursday, Narottam Mishra, Home Minister, Madhya Pradesh said at a press conference, "NEET and JEE examinations are not examinations of class third or fourth.
People passing these examinations contribute to nation-building. These examinations are essential. Therefore, this should not be made an issue.”

As for now, the MP government has made the foremost decision to double the number of exam centres to be allotted, followed by banning frisking of candidates. Students will be allowed to pass through metal detectors, instead.
To add to the safety of candidates, alternate arrangements have been made for NEET and JEE Main students. There will be separate exit and entry points for students, along with face masks being compulsory.
Thermal scanning will be done at the entrance, document verification will be done in separate rooms. 15 students will be allowed to enter a room at a time. A total of 12 NET candidates will be seated in one room.

Centres will be sanitised before each exam. In case students suffer from high fever they will be shifted to isolation wards. Students will be allowed to entre exam centres with only masks, gloves, sanitisers, water in transparent bottles, admit and ID cards.
A senior official of the Department of Education said the further postponement will hamper academic year at the cost of thousands of students’ career.

He said, “Shifting of the examination would call for a massive logistical exercise. Thousands of centres are to be contacted again for their availability. Also, the availability of supervisors and invigilators, movement of tonnes of materials and equipment like jammers and CCTV cameras are involved.
It takes almost three months to prepare for the examination for the administration. For the students, it takes even longer to prepare for the tests. If it is postponed again, it will ruin an academic year.”
