New Delhi: As per the latest updates, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) January Session 2023 Exam has set a record for highest test takers of all the time with an attendance record of 95.8%. For this session, the cutoff is expected to go above 85%.

Out of the 8,60,058 applicants who registered for JEE Main 2023 Paper 1 (BE/ BTech program), only 8,23,850 took the test. The JEE Main exam determines eligibility for the top 20% of candidates who become eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2023. 

According to the reports, JEE Main January Exam 2023 has witnessed the highest number of registrations from female candidates, exceeding the 30% threshold and marking the highest percentage of female applicants ever recorded for JEE exam. 

Of the total registration of 9,06,523, female candidates comprise 30.7% of the enrollment. Among the female candidates, 11.4% fall under the EWS category, 37% from SC, 9.1% from ST and 3.4% are from the OBC categories.

This year, a total of 46,465 candidates enrolled for Paper 2 (B Arch/ B Planning programs), out of which only 35,232 candidates appeared for session 1 of JEE Main 2023 exam.

The JEE Main 2023 exam was conducted over 6 days, beginning from January 24, with day two (January 25) seeing the highest attendance of 96%, with more than 1.45 lakh candidates taking the exam. On January 28, Paper 2 was held with a 75.8% attendance record. 

Following the JEE Main 2023 Exam Dates, the January 2023 session exam was held for all registered candidates till February 01, 2023. Now the JEE Main Phase 2 (April Session) Exam 2023 is expected to take place on April 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and April 12, 2023. 

The JEE Main 2023 exam was conducted in two shifts in 252 cities spread over 33 States and UTs in the following 13 languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. 

The exam was also administered in Dubai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, Colombo, Jakarta, Moscow, Bangkok, and Washington, D.C. This year, Maharashtra had the most applicants with 1,03,039 in number, followed by Uttar Pradesh (UP) with 99,714 students.
