JEE Main 2023

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reopened the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 application correction window for Session I in accordance with a recently-issued notification. 

Candidates will now be able to make changes to their JEE Main 2023 Application Form's state code of eligibility and category, by visiting the official website @jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date to make corrections in the JEE Main 2023 application for the January session is February 05 till 5 PM. 

After receiving numerous candidate representations, NTA decided to reopen the JEE Main 2023 Form Correction Window. As this is the last chance before the announcement of the JEE Main 2023 Session I Results, NTA further recommended that the applicants make the modifications carefully as no other chance will be given.

JEE Main 2023 Application Correction Window: Modify the State Code of Eligibility and Category

  • According to the NTA Notification, the NTA is in receipt of few representations from the candidates regarding giving them an opportunity to edit/modify their State Code of Eligibility and Category in the Online Application Form of JEE Main 2023 Session I. 
  • Given the foregoing and in the best interests of the students, it has been decided to give applicants the chance to change their State Code of Eligibility and Category in the online JEE (Main) - 2023 Session I application form, the NTA notification said.

Further, the NTA has also clarified that the state code of eligibility refers to the code of the state from where the candidate is appearing in or has passed the Class 12 (or equivalent) qualifying exam under which the candidate becomes eligible to appear in JEE Main 2023 exam and to get admission in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). 

The NTA notice reveals that if a candidate has got wrong State code of Eligibility in their JEE Main Admit Card as per the above criteria, then they can change the State Code of Eligibility in the Online Application Form. 

However, NTA has intimated the candidates to note that the state code of eligibility does not depend upon the native place or permanent address or the place of residence of the candidate.
