New Delhi: NTA has officially announced that JEE Main 2022 exam will be conducted in two sessions, this year, instead of four. The exact dates fot the entrance exam has not been announced yet, and only the reduction in the number of attempts for the exam has been notified. The JEE Main 2022 application process will shortly begin @jeemain.nta.nic.in. 

The agency has notified that a candidate is not required to appear in two sessions of JEE Main 2022. However, if they appear in more than one session, then their best of the JEE (Main) 2022 scores will be considered for preparation of merit list/ ranking.

The NTA has informed that the decision will benefit candidates in multiple ways as it will give them two opportunities to improve their JEE Main 2022 scores in the examination if they fail to get the desired score in the first attempt. 

The students will get first-hand experience of sitting for the JEE Main 2022 examination in the first attempt, whereas in the second attempt, they will understand their mistakes and improve it the second time.

Thus, this will reduce the chances of dropping a year and candidates wouldn't have to waste an entire year, the NTA mentioned in its official website. 

As per the NTA notice, if any candidate missed the JEE Main 2022 due to unavoidable reasons beyond control (such as the Board examination), then they will not have to wait for one entire year.

Recently, the Delhi government announced its plans to provide free preparatory coaching for coveted exams like NEET, JEE Main exams to the government school students. 

This initiative has been launched by the Delhi Directorate of Education, who has inked a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU with ‘Avanti Fellows’ to train the medical and engineering aspirants for the entrance examinations

JEE Main 2022: Eligibility Criteria 

As per the JEE Main 2022 Eligibility criteria, there's no age limit to appear for the JEE Main 2022 examination. Candidates who have qualified the class 12/equivalent exams in the relevant stream in 2020, 2021, or appearing in the current academic year 2022 irrespective of their age can sit for the JEE Main 2022 examination. However, the candidates must fulfil the age requirements of the institutes where they wish to take admissions. 

Thus, the candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2020, 2021, or those candidates appearing in Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2022 examination.
