December 29, 2021: JEE Main for the 2022 session is expected to be delayed till March 2022 due to upcoming Assembly Elections in five states. Following the expected changes, the remaining three attempts might shift to April, May, and June subsequently. 

As of now, the registration process for the engineering entrance exam, Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2022 is expected to start from January 2022 for all interested candidates. However, no official schedule for the same has been released by the exam authority till now. 

For the 2021 session, the National Testing Agency started the registration process for JEE Mains in the month of December 2020. By comparing the schedule, the registration was expected to start from December 2021 for the 2022 session.

As per senior Education Ministry officials, “the government has decided to conduct JEE Main 2022 in four attempts. However, considering the pending elections, the schedule may be tweaked this year".

The officials further stated that the assembly elections are scheduled to be held in five states from February-March 2022. Due to this, the exam authority might also delay the second, third and fourth exam attempts till April, May, and June respectively. 

Furthermore, the expected changes in JEE Main 2022 Schedule might also impact the schedule of the second term Class 12th Board Exam 2022. The board exam for the second term is now expected to be held in the month of March, April 2022. 

The final confirmation for JEE 2022 Mains Exam Schedule will be made after the release of the Class 12th Board Exam schedule by the examination authority. Students are advised to keep a tab on the official NTA website for the latest exam schedule updates.

Students who are preparing to appear for JEE Main Exam 2022 must note that the registration process for the February 2022 session is expected to start from the 1st week of January. The registration window will be available on the official website of NTA for eligible candidates. 

Once released, students are advised to submit their registration applications for JEE Mains Exam 2022 with care to avoid any errors. Candidates must note that applications with false information or errors will not be entertained by the examination authority. 

In other news, the Ministry of Education, NTA has recently launched a Mobile App to offer free coaching for competitive exams. With this initiative, students can now prepare for upcoming JEE Mains, NEET-UG, or other examinations through mobile applications.
