When will the NTA start the JEE Main 2021 registration process? And what the dates of the exam will be. These questions are clouding the minds of lakhs of engineering aspirants who are looking forward to the NTA JEE Mains exam next year.

Ideally, this year NTA was also looking forward to the announcement of the JEE Main 2021 exam dates in August and to the opening of the January session in September.

However, 2020 was not the ideal year, and with the pandemic throwing a normal life at a tizzy one, a delay was expected. However, the students are now getting a little restless to know the exact situation, with the questions on the spotlight – what will be the JEE Main 2021 exam date? And when is registration going to start?

Under normal circumstances, the JEE Main January Exam is scheduled to take place in the second week of January 2021 and the April Exam in the first or second week of April 2021. But in order for this to happen in January, registration should begin in October / November.

Various aspects of the exam are expected to be affected this year – the exam date (as the schedule seems to be delayed), the syllabus (schools are still open in full force, the CBSE slashed the syllabus), and more. It will be crucial for NTA and other stakeholders to take the right decisions in this regard to ensure that students can apply on time, prepare for them in these circumstances, and take a career-deciding exam smoothly. These questions remain unanswered until the release of the JEE Main 2021 brochure by NTA.

At the recently concluded session of JEE Main, i.e. JEE Main 2020, 5.88 lakh students applied for the Jan and April / September sessions. 4.81 Lakh has appeared in both of the exams. At the Jan session, 9.21 lakhs had registered, and 8.69 lakhs had appeared. 8.41 lakhs had registered and 6.35 lakhs had appeared in the Apr / Sep session.
