New Delhi: The Education Ministry has asked IIT Guwahati, the conducting body for JEE Advanced 2023 to decide on the topic of Compensatory Attempt demanded by students.
The ministry has forwarded the representation by All India Student’s Union(AISU) demanding an extra attempt for JEE Advanced 2023 Exam.
The representation was sent to the Chairman of JEE Advanced 2023 Organising Committee at IIT Guwahati.
Referring the AISU letter, Kavita Chauhan, Under Secretary to the Government of India, asked the Chairman of JEE Advanced 2023 to take appropriate action and inform the ministry.
JEE Advanced is the entrance test to the top engineering institute of the country like IITs, NITs. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other ‘bonafied issues’, many students were unable to sit for the exam in 2021 and hence.
These students have demanded an extra chance or ‘compensatory attempt’ to sit for the exam in 2023.
The students have sent various letters and representations to the Joint Admissions Committee (JAC) stating their situation and requesting for another attempt. IIT Guwahati has replied to the letters assuring that their requests would be considered in the next JAB Meeting.
