Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Advanced 2021 would take place on July 3, 2021. The Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released the dates along with the revised eligibility criteria. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, the concession in the 75% aggregate requirement of class 12 has been eliminated this year as well.

Although the Education Minister did not inform the possibility of a third attempt in the JEE Advanced 2021 examination leading to speculations among many students. Despite this, he did declare that the requirement of 75% in the board examination has been removed.

Many students are asking for a third attempt at JEE Advanced 2021. The Education Minister has not made any such announcement yet. Thus, the maximum of two attempts at JEE Advanced would remain the same for this year as well.

JEE Advanced 2021: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for JEE Advanced 2021 should check the below-mentioned eligibility criteria;

  • Candidates need to qualify the JEE Main 2021 examination by being in the top 2,50,000 (including reserved categories) in Paper 1 of JEE Main 2021.
  • to be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced. 
  • Students who were not eligible for JEE Main 2021 are also not eligible for JEE Advanced 2021 either. This includes candidates who completed their Class 12 in 2018 or before. 
  • A cap on 2 attempts in two consecutive years remains the same for JEE examinations. Thus candidates who have already appeared for JEE Advanced 2020 and JEE Advanced 2019 cannot appear for JEE Advanced 2021.
  • Similarly, this year, the criteria for obtaining 75% aggregate in your qualifying examinations have also been eliminated.
