As the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions continue in different parts of the country, candidates are asking the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to consider their cases.

A total of 1,6 lakh candidates are likely to take their JEE-Advanced on 27 September in 222 cities for admission to 111 engineering and technology colleges, including 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

As the Covid-19 pandemic and travel restrictions in different parts of the country continue, candidates are asking the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to consider their cases.

A total of 1,6 lakh candidates are likely to take their JEE Advanced exams on 27 September in 222 cities for admission to 111 engineering and technology colleges, including 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

On Monday, the JoSAA issued admittance cards to candidates who had completed their registration.

While some candidates complained that their seventh or eighth preference had been granted, others said that the centre had not been chosen by them at all.

"I don't know how my centre was chosen. I'm expected to travel more than 400 km to take the exam, "said another candidate from Patna.

This year, the JoSAA has doubled the number of examination centres from 600 last year to 1,150 this year to ensure social distance measures during the examination.

This year, the JEE-Advanced Exam is being conducted by the IIT-Delhi.
