ISRO Online Free Course: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has recently launched an online free course on Basics of Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System (GIS), and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
This free online program delivered by Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) is open for all interested students, researchers, and interested professionals. Interested candidates can submit their applications on the official website of SWAYAM, onlinecourses.swayam2.ac.in.
The course will be offered as part of the IIRS Outreach Programmes. IIRS Dehradun is an independent entity of ISRO, restructured by then ISRO Chairman, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan. The institute now offers research, higher education, and training in Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics and Environmental and Disaster Management, GPS Technology for Natural Resources.
As of now, this ISRO online free course on Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System, and Global Navigation Satellite System will commence for a duration of 15 weeks. Classes for the same will be held from January 24 to May 09, 2022.

ISRO Online Free Course 2021-22: Program Layout
During the ISRO Online Free Program 2021-22 commencement, applicants will be taught fundamentals and principles of major topics such as remote sensing, earth observation sensors and platforms, thermal remote sensing, and spectral signatures of different land cover features.
The course curriculum of the ISRO online program will include the following topics and modules:

The free online program will include over 75 hours of learning. The course curriculum of the same has a total of four-module, namely; remote sensing, global navigation satellite system, geographic information system, and applications of geospatial technology.

After IIRS Dehradun commences classes, candidates who enrolled for this ISRO online free course will have an assignment or quiz as a part of the course curriculum. Based on the internal and final marks secured by the candidates, they will be further awarded with an ISRO Certificate.
