PSU recruitment through GATE increasing Vacancies in MTech Admission every year

As per recent reports, IITs claim 15-20% seats remain vacant in MTech courses every year as GATE scores lead to recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

In view of this shortcoming, back in 2017 IIT Madras framed the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) to create a common recruitment platform for Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) and IITs, IISc.

Despite the COAP being in place, only a few PSUs like Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) take part in the process.
