Education Minister, Manish Sisodia has announced that Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women will soon have a new campus in Narela. The campus will be built to accommodate over 25000 students.
The statement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia during his speech at the 4th convocation ceremony of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women. The event was held on the present campus ground on Thursday, December 23, 2021.
Addressing the ceremony, Manish Sisodia stated that students of the university have received good packages from some of the top recruiters in the country during the IGDTUW Placement round. This ensures the development of the country as well as a secure future for the students.
To offer the best education facilities to university students on campus ground, the new campus of the university will soon be ready in Narela. The campus will be built on 50 acres of land and will be equipped with the finest education facilities to over 25k students, he added.
While talking about the role of the IGDTUW in the development of the country, he said, “The Kejriwal government is with the university in every endeavor. Research plays an important role in the development of any country".
"The university must increase its focus on quality research by collaborating with the government and different organizations. The government will aim to offer all possible support for the development of the university" he further added.
Adding to the statement, the Education Minister stated that over the years, the university has provided quality and quantity education. The government is also providing full support to universities so that they can provide education fasciitis to each and every student in Delhi
With the aim of the Education Minister to make education possible for all students, the Government will support the universities in increasing the admission seat. As of now, the Delhi Government is the only Government that offers 25% of its annual budget to education.
During the event, the IGDTUW UG, PG Course 2021-22 session degrees were given to 368 undergraduates, 131 postgraduates, and 13 doctoral students.
Additionally, the topper of the programs was awarded with two chancellor's gold medals, fourteen vice chancellor's gold medals, and fourteen silver plaques during the convocation event. The event celebrated the overall performance of students throughout the year.
